The final piece in the Settlers of Catan Dog Hex Series, featuring a graceful Saluki standing proudly within the Desert Hex. A fitting close to the collection with elegance, speed, and timeless desert spirit.
Complete your collection with Desertbound Guardian: The Saluki of the Final Hex, the closing artwork in my custom Settlers of Catan-inspired dog hex painting series. This hand-crafted piece transforms the classic desert tile into a striking canine tribute, pairing the Saluki’s graceful form with the warm tones and open horizons of the barren lands.
Known for speed, endurance, and noble beauty, the Saluki was the perfect breed to represent the final hex. Its poised stance and flowing silhouette bring movement and life to the stillness of the desert tile, creating a piece that feels both elegant and adventurous.
This artwork was created using Stuart Semple Super Base, White 2.0 acrylic paint, protective mattifying membrane coat varnish, and POSCA acrylic paint pens. After the painting was completed, I refined the final presentation digitally using Snapseed and Procreate for a crisp print-ready finish.
From forest guardians to wheat companions, mountain protectors, pasture herders, clay defenders, and now the final desert runner, this artwork completes the full dog-themed Catan collection.
Perfect for board game lovers, Saluki fans, collectors of dog art, and anyone wanting a unique fantasy-inspired conversation piece.
