Six Steadfast Companions brings together six of my Dogust 2026 dog portraits in one original mixed-media artwork. Each dog occupies an individual blue-toned panel, creating a colorful grid of distinct faces, markings, and personalities.

Although every portrait stands on its own, the six dogs form a unified celebration of the qualities that make dogs so meaningful to us—loyalty, courage, curiosity, strength, and companionship. The hand-drawn black borders and varied shades of blue give the artwork the feeling of a canine portrait gallery contained on a single sheet.

I created this artwork using a mechanical pencil, kneaded eraser, watercolor pens, India ink pens, fineliner pens, and acrylic paint pens. The visible textures, expressive lines, and small handmade variations are part of the character of the original piece.

This is the one-of-a-kind physical artwork created during my Dogust 2026 art challenge. It would make a meaningful addition to the home of a dog lover, art collector, or anyone who enjoys expressive canine portraiture.
