Medium: Original watercolor (reproduced as fine art prints)
Subject: Labrador Retrievers • Water • Motion • Endurance

Against the Current captures a moment of raw determination as a group of Labrador Retrievers swim through a raging river, pushing forward against churning water and relentless currents. Painted in watercolor, the scene emphasizes motion—layered blues, broken edges, and flowing brushwork echo the strength and perseverance of the dogs as they press onward.

This piece is inspired by the quiet resolve Labradors are known for: steady, focused, and unyielding even when the waters are rough. The looseness of the watercolor allows the river to feel alive, while the dogs remain the emotional anchor of the composition.

Whether viewed as a symbol of endurance, teamwork, or pressing forward through adversity, this artwork is meant to resonate with those who appreciate movement, story, and strength in animal art.
