Below the Surface — Claiming the 2 of Spades is a limited edition watercolor art print from the Barker’s of Ruin world, created during Aqua January, a water-themed art challenge focused on movement, depth, and reflection.

The artwork captures a decisive moment: a dog diving beneath the surface while holding the 2 of Spades—a symbol of risk, resolve, and commitment once a choice is made. In Barker’s of Ruin, cards represent turning points, and this piece focuses on the instant where action replaces hesitation.

This limited edition print is produced from the original watercolor painting and preserves the layered washes, organic textures, and bold acrylic paint pen linework that define the piece. The cool blue and teal palette gives the artwork a calm, contemplative presence, while the playing card introduces narrative tension.

Each print in this edition is part of a strictly limited run of 20, created for collectors who value scarcity, storytelling, and meaningful artwork.
