A hand-drawn fantasy potion illustration inspired by Barker’s of Ruin. The Cleansing Draught represents restoration, clarity, and a moment of protection in the midst of battle.
The Cleansing Draught is a vital item within the world of Barker’s of Ruin. In gameplay, this potion removes all active debuffs and grants immunity to new debuffs for a single combat, offering a moment of clarity and protection when the fight turns against you.
This illustration was created using mechanical pencil and kneaded eraser for the initial sketch, followed by watercolor pens activated with water to build the translucent blue tones of the potion.
The artwork focuses on a single object study—an unassuming glass bottle filled with swirling liquid—allowing the symbolism of restoration and resilience to take center stage. The entire process was recorded and shared as a time-lapse video, revealing the piece from first line to final details.
