Celebrate a family's legacy with a Limited Edition Print of Portrait of Samuel and Ida Fisher, an original mixed-media artwork by Justyn Simon. Created as the featured illustration for Episode 2 of The Biography of Earl Dewey Fisher illustrated audiobook series, this artwork preserves a meaningful chapter of the Fisher family's story through traditional craftsmanship and historical storytelling.
Inspired by historical family photographs and Earl Dewey Fisher's own written memories, the portrait depicts Samuel Fisher and Ida Fisher, whose journey from Iowa to Kansas established the home where Earl spent his earliest years. Their story of perseverance, family, and new beginnings serves as the foundation for the biography that follows.
The peaceful rural landscape surrounding the couple—including the farmhouse, windmill, fencing, and open fields—adds historical context while honoring the agricultural lifestyle that shaped the Fisher family. Rather than simply recreating an old photograph, this illustration reimagines the world in which Samuel and Ida lived, creating a timeless tribute to their lives and legacy.
The artwork was created using mechanical pencil, kneaded eraser, colored pencil, fine liner pen, India ink pen, and acrylic paint pen, combining traditional drawing techniques to produce a richly detailed historical portrait.
Each Limited Edition Print is individually produced as part of a strictly limited edition, making it a collectible piece for art enthusiasts, genealogy researchers, and family historians alike. Once the edition has sold out, no additional prints in this edition will be produced, making each print a lasting keepsake of both the artwork and the story it represents.
