One Original. One Family Story. One Lasting Legacy.
Own the original, hand-crafted artwork behind Portrait of Samuel and Ida Fisher, a one-of-a-kind mixed-media illustration by Justyn Simon. Created as the featured artwork for Episode 2 of The Biography of Earl Dewey Fisher illustrated audiobook series, this original drawing preserves an important chapter in the Fisher family's history through traditional artistic craftsmanship.
Unlike prints, this is the actual artwork created by the artist—every pencil stroke, ink line, and painted highlight is part of the original piece. It is a unique work of art that cannot be duplicated.
Inspired by historical family photographs and Earl Dewey Fisher's own written memories, this portrait honors Samuel Fisher and Ida Fisher, Earl's parents, whose journey from Iowa to Kansas laid the foundation for generations of the Fisher family. Set against a peaceful rural landscape featuring a farmhouse, windmill, fencing, and open fields, the composition captures both the people and the environment that shaped the beginning of Earl's remarkable story.
The artwork was carefully created using mechanical pencil, kneaded eraser, colored pencil, fine liner pen, India ink pen, and acrylic paint pen, producing a richly detailed illustration that blends realism with historical storytelling. Every layer reflects hours of traditional craftsmanship and careful attention to preserving an authentic family legacy.
As the original artwork from The Biography of Earl Dewey Fisher series, this piece is ideal for collectors of original art, genealogy enthusiasts, family historians, and anyone who appreciates meaningful works inspired by true stories.
