A New September Look: Returning to the Story of Earl Dewey Fisher
Sep 01, 2026
September marks a return to one of my most meaningful creative projects: The Biography of Earl Dewey Fisher. After focusing on dog artwork during Dogust in August, I plan to continue creating illustrations for my family-history audiobook series throughout September. To welcome this new monthly focus, I created six autumn-themed buttons for the homepage of The Artistic Shepherd.
These buttons combine warm shades of orange, red, gold, brown, and green with imagery inspired by books, history, art, faith, dogs, videos, and the changing season. Together, they give my website a coordinated fall appearance while helping visitors explore several important areas of my creative work.
Shop Earl Dewey Fisher Art
The centerpiece of September’s homepage is the Shop Earl Dewey Fisher Art button. Its covered bridge, historic buildings, autumn trees, and reflective water evoke the feeling of looking back into another time.
My Earl Dewey Fisher project preserves the life story of my great-grandfather through narration and original artwork. Each audiobook episode explores another part of his memories, family, and experiences. I create a new illustration to accompany each chapter before sharing the finished artwork through videos, prints, blog posts, and other products.
This button will guide visitors directly to the artwork inspired by Earl’s biography, including illustrations connected to his parents, siblings, childhood, and earliest memories. As I continue the series in September, this collection will grow alongside the story.
Shop Dog Art
Although September’s main theme is Earl Dewey Fisher artwork, dogs remain an important part of The Artistic Shepherd. The Shop Dog Art button features a friendly golden retriever surrounded by colorful leaves and small autumn details.
This section gives visitors a place to explore my dog portraits, breed artwork, mixed-media studies, and artwork from challenges such as Dogust. It also provides a bridge between my August dog-art focus and the family-history work I am returning to in September.
Shop Religious Art
Faith is another meaningful part of my identity and creative practice. The Shop Religious Art button features a wooden cross illuminated by a brilliant sunrise, surrounded by a peaceful autumn landscape.
This button leads visitors toward artwork inspired by Jesus Christ, scripture, spiritual experiences, and themes of hope and devotion. The glowing sky and changing leaves help the design match the rest of the September collection while giving this button its own uplifting atmosphere.
Shop Book Art
The Shop Book Art button features a stack of old books, an open illustrated volume, art supplies, and reading glasses beside a window. The scene connects especially well with September’s Earl Dewey Fisher theme because the project brings together written history, visual storytelling, and audiobook narration.
This section celebrates artwork connected to books, biographies, storytelling, and literary projects. Its quiet workspace also reflects the research, writing, drawing, and editing that happen behind the scenes as I transform Earl’s memories into an illustrated series.
Shop Barker’s of Ruin
The Shop Barker’s of Ruin button transports visitors into a very different kind of story. Surrounded by ancient castles, rocky landscapes, birds, and autumn trees, the button reflects the fantasy world behind my original card game and art project.
While Earl Dewey Fisher’s biography preserves a real family story, Barker’s of Ruin allows me to explore imaginative characters, unusual rules, dramatic settings, and visual worldbuilding. Including this button alongside my historical work shows the variety of stories that inspire my art.
Discover More Videos
The final button invites visitors to explore More Videos. It features a vintage film camera, a clapperboard displaying The Artistic Shepherd name, and a mug bearing the words “Create, Inspire, Share.”
Video is an important part of how I document my artwork. Through YouTube Shorts and longer audiobook episodes, viewers can see completed illustrations, learn about the stories behind them, and follow the continuing development of my projects. During September, this section will make it easier to find videos related to the Earl Dewey Fisher series as new episodes and artwork are released.
Creating a Unified Autumn Homepage
Although these six buttons lead to different parts of my website, their shared autumn appearance brings them together as one collection. The warm colors, painterly textures, seasonal leaves, and historical atmosphere create a fitting visual setting for September.
The designs also reflect the different sides of my creative journey: family history, dog artwork, faith, books, fantasy storytelling, and video production. Each subject has its own identity, but all of them are connected through my goal of using art to preserve stories, explore ideas, and share meaningful experiences.
Continuing Earl Dewey Fisher’s Story
September will give me an opportunity to return to The Biography of Earl Dewey Fisher after taking time during August to work on Dogust. I look forward to creating more illustrations based on Earl’s memories and continuing the audiobook series one episode at a time.
Every finished drawing adds another visual piece to his story. Together, the artwork and narration help preserve his experiences for family members, viewers, readers, and future generations.
As you explore The Artistic Shepherd this September, I hope these new buttons make the website feel welcoming, seasonal, and easy to navigate. Whether you are interested in family history, dogs, religious subjects, books, fantasy worlds, or behind-the-scenes videos, there will be a path waiting for you.
Thank you for following my creative journey and joining me as I continue bringing the memories of Earl Dewey Fisher to life through art.
