Some potions are meant to keep you going.
Some are meant to save you from a bad roll.
And then there are potions like this one…

Glass Cannon Brew is the kind of bottle you grab when you’re not playing safe anymore.

It’s a high-risk / high-reward potion from my game world Barker’s of Ruin, and it has one job:

💥 Deal QUADRUPLE damage on your next attack
⚠️ But then… you take DOUBLE damage for the rest of combat

So yeah… it hits like a meteor.
But the fight becomes a lot scarier immediately after.

This is the final potion artwork I made for my art challenge, and it felt like the perfect way to close out the potion series—because nothing says “last potion” like something that can win the battle or completely wreck you.

The Glass Cannon Mechanic

This potion is built around a classic risk/reward decision:

✅ You get an insane power spike right now
⚠️ But you become extremely fragile afterward

It’s the kind of potion you use when:

• You’re trying to finish a boss

• You’re one hit away from losing anyway

• You want to gamble everything on one massive strike

• You’ve accepted chaos as your strategy 😂

And honestly… in a game like Barker’s of Ruin, that kind of move can be the difference between victory and a wipe.

Artwork Inspiration

When I was designing this one, I wanted it to feel like something powerful but unstable—like the potion itself is too dangerous to be contained, and the bottle is basically a countdown timer.

Something that looks like victory…
but might crack the moment you swing.

Materials Used

This piece was made using:

🎨 Mechanical pencil
🎨 Kneaded eraser
🎨 Watercolor pencils
🎨 Metallic watercolor pencils
🎨 Water
🎨 Acrylic paint pen outline

I love how watercolor pencils let me build up the color slowly, and the metallic accents help the potion feel like it has that “enchanted glow” effect without needing it to be over-the-top.
