Some fights don’t give you a second chance.
That’s exactly where the Iron Skin Potion of the Aegis comes in.

This piece is part of my ongoing Barker’s of Ruin potion series—where every item isn’t just decoration… it’s a tool that can actually shift the outcome of a battle. This one is all about defense and survival: that moment when you know you’re about to get hit hard, and the only thing that matters is staying on your feet.

🛡️ This is the kind of potion you drink when you’re holding the line.

What the Iron Skin Potion of the Aegis Does (In-Game Effect)

In Barker’s of Ruin, this potion is powered by the Diamond suit, and it rewards you for drawing defensive momentum during combat:

💎 Each Diamond card grants +1 Shield during a single combat.

So the more Diamonds you pull, the more armored you become—like your skin is literally hardening into iron until the battle ends.

This illustration was made with a mechanical pencil and kneaded eraser for the sketchwork, watercolor pencil and graphite watercolor pencil for the shading and tone, and finished with an acrylic pen border to give it that clean, framed look.

Why I Made This Potion

I love designing potion art that feels like it belongs in a real game inventory—something you’d find after a tough encounter and immediately think:

“Yeah… I’m saving that for later.”

The Iron Skin Potion of the Aegis is that exact vibe.
It’s defensive. Reliable. And honestly kind of intimidating—like the visual version of bracing for impact.
