Lexicon Lands: Claiming the Final Word — When Strategy Becomes Reality

In the ever-shifting world of Woof&Wyrm.exe, not every battle is fought with tooth and claw.

Some are fought with words.

Lexicon Lands: Claiming the Final Word is the official cover art for one of the Phase One mini-games used by the cunning and rule-breaking villain Catrick the Cheat — a game where intellect replaces instinct, and spelling the right word at the right time can determine whether the heroes of Woofhaven advance… or fall.

This digital illustration was created entirely in Procreate as part of the growing Barker’s of Ruin Mini-Game Cover Art Series featured on the Savior Over Sin channel.

🎨 From Blank Canvas to Battlefield

Unlike many of the other challenges in Barker’s of Ruin, Lexicon Lands isn’t about brute force or card combos — it's about language.

In this mini-game, players:

  • Use their playing cards to spell three-letter words

  • Replace completed words with lettered dice

  • Strategically build toward victory across nine turns

  • Balance tactical card usage between word-building and Barker’s-style actions

This means every turn becomes a risk-reward decision:
Do you press forward toward the winning line…
or do you disrupt your opponent’s progress before they can claim the final word?

The floating tiles spelling I W.I.N. in this artwork represent the ultimate goal — not just victory in the game, but narrative dominance in the story-driven boss fight against Catrick himself.

🐾 A Mini-Game That Changes the Fight

Within the Woof&Wyrm.exe TTRPG system, the outcome of Phase One directly affects what happens in Phase Two — the dreaded Undead Tabbies encounter.

If the heroes can outspell Catrick in Lexicon Lands, they gain a crucial advantage going into the second phase of the boss battle.
But if Catrick wins?

He doesn’t just win the game.

He rewrites the rules.

From initial sketch to finalized floating tiles, this piece was designed to visually capture the cerebral nature of one of the most deceptively dangerous mini-games in the Barker’s of Ruin system.
