Timbertail Guardian 🪵🐕

There’s something timeless about a dog with a smile that feels as warm as a cabin fire. Timbertail Guardian captures that spirit through the cheerful face of a Finnish Lapphund placed against the classic wood hex of Settlers of Catan. Originally bred in the Arctic north to help herd reindeer, Finnish Lapphunds are known for being friendly, intelligent, and weather-ready companions—making them a perfect match for the forest resource tile.
This artwork began as a hand-painted wooden hex using Stuart Semple Super Base, White 2.0 acrylic paint, protective mattifying membrane coat varnish, and POSCA acrylic paint pens. After the physical piece was complete, it was refined digitally with Snapseed and Procreate to create a crisp print-ready finish while preserving the texture and character of the original.
The warm grain tones of the wood background contrast beautifully with the Finnish Lapphund’s thick dark coat and bright expression, creating a playful yet sturdy fantasy-inspired portrait. It’s a piece that feels equally at home in a game room, office, cabin, or any space that celebrates dogs and adventure.
Whether you love Nordic breeds, tabletop gaming, or handcrafted canine art, Timbertail Guardian brings personality and woodland charm to your collection.
