Bringing Every Page of The Artistic Shepherd to Life Through Video

I’m always looking for new ways to make The Artistic Shepherd easier, more interesting, and more personal to explore. One of the next projects I’m taking on is something that will eventually reach across my entire website: I plan to create a video for every page on The Artistic Shepherd.

Rather than having visitors rely entirely on written descriptions and images, I want each page to have a video that introduces what that part of my website is all about. These videos will give me another way to talk about my artwork, explain the ideas behind different collections, and help visitors discover areas of The Artistic Shepherd they might not have explored otherwise.

Starting with My Fine Art Prints

I’ve already begun putting this idea into action with a video introducing my Fine Art Prints.

In the video, I highlight the variety of artwork available through The Artistic Shepherd. Dog art is a major part of what I create, but my collection has grown to include much more. Visitors can discover everything from abstract and landscape artwork to whimsical pieces, flowers, animals, book-inspired art, and other creative projects.

I also use the video to introduce some of the more unusual parts of my collection, including artwork inspired by tabletop gaming.

Why I Want to Add Videos to Every Page

The Artistic Shepherd has expanded considerably over the years. While dogs remain at the heart of my work, my website now represents many different sides of my creativity.

That variety is something I’m proud of, but it also means there is a lot for a new visitor to discover. Videos can serve as short introductions that help explain what each page contains and why I created it.

For example, someone arriving on one of my Dog Art by Breed pages could watch a video introducing that particular breed and the artwork I’ve created featuring it. Someone visiting my Religious Art page could hear more about that side of my work, while visitors exploring my Abstract Art, Landscape Art, Flower Art, Whimsical Art, Portrait Art, Seasonal Art, or other collections could receive an introduction tailored specifically to what they’re viewing.

My Commission and About pages can benefit from video as well. Instead of only reading about my work, visitors will be able to hear directly from me about what I create and what The Artistic Shepherd represents.

More Than a Website Introduction

I don’t want these videos to simply repeat the words already written on each webpage. My goal is for them to complement the pages.

A page can provide detailed information, artwork, links, and other resources, while its video provides a more visual introduction. Together, they can give visitors multiple ways to experience the same part of The Artistic Shepherd.

The project will also allow me to bring more of my website to YouTube. Each new video can introduce viewers to a specific part of my art collection and then give them somewhere to continue exploring on my website.

Someone might discover me through a video about a particular dog breed, for example, and then visit The Artistic Shepherd to see the artwork available for that breed. Another person might find one of my landscape or abstract art videos and discover an entirely different side of my work.

A Big Project That Will Grow Over Time

Creating a video for every page on my website is going to be a large project, especially because The Artistic Shepherd already contains many pages and will continue growing as I create new artwork.

Because of that, this isn’t something I expect to complete all at once.

Instead, I plan to gradually work my way through the website, creating videos page by page. As new pages are added in the future, I can continue the same approach and create videos for those as well.

Over time, my goal is for visitors to be able to move throughout The Artistic Shepherd and find a relevant video accompanying each major page they visit.

Building a More Personal Artistic Shepherd

The Artistic Shepherd has always been more than simply a place to list artwork for sale. It’s where I bring together my artwork, experiments, challenges, stories, interests, and the different creative directions I explore.

Adding videos throughout the site is another step toward making that experience more personal.

Whether someone comes to my website because they love dogs, are looking for artwork for their home, are interested in one of my art challenges, or simply want to see what I’m creating, I want them to have plenty of ways to explore.

The Fine Art Prints video is just the beginning.

Eventually, I hope every page of The Artistic Shepherd will have a video of its own—creating a website where my artwork can not only be seen, but introduced, explained, and explored in a whole new way.
